Quarter 4 Tutoring
Quarter 4 of third grade is here! This is the last quester before fourth grade I can't believe it.! Please read through the report card comments on FSA connect with your child this weekend to see where they currently stand as they end the 2016-2017 school year.
As per my syllabus, tutoring is typically on an as need or as request basis. Tutoring is a very valuable time for me to individualize instruction for students who need specific skills. There has been a recent increase in attendance, which is amazing, but is becoming too many to individualize instruction.
Although tutoring is desired by you or your child to improve grades and understanding of concepts, it can end up taking away from the students who need it. Tutoring is only for students who meet one of the following requirement for the remainder of the year:
1) failing a course
2) did not pass a recent test or quiz
3) has incomplete work and needs to come per Ms. Ramsey's request.
I hope you can be understanding! Let me know if you have any questions regarding this matter.

ONGOING THIRD GRADE PROJECTS IN AND OUT OF THE CLASSROOM
Most importantly, if your child is providing food as a good to sell during Market Day, they should include the ingredient list in the interests of our students who have food allergies and/or dietary restrictions.
Please remember that the Market Day project is due March 30, 2017.
This includes:
1. Posters as advertisements
2. Goods and Services to sell during the simulation
3. Project Packets
We would love to welcome you throughout this Market Day experience(8:00-10:30a.m. in the FSAPS cafeteria). We will be needing some parent volunteers if you are available to assist us in set up/clean up of projects in the cafeteria. If you are interested in helping us on this day, please inform your child's homeroom teacher. We would really appreciate your help specifically during the clean up (10:00-10:30) to make sure we are cleared out prior to lunches starting.
Ms. Cox, Mrs. Hewett, and I will provide students with tickets to use to buy goods or services on Market Day. Each ticket will be valued at $5.00. As students are preparing their projects and choosing pricing, please ensure that all prices are in increments of 5: ($5, $10, $15..... $100). Each student will receive $100 (20 tickets) to use to buy/sell. Students will be responsible for running their shop during their designated selling time.
Narrative Writing
Your child have is in the process of becoming a published author of their very own picture book! I have conferences with each student and approved of their topics. Most of this project will be completed at school. Students will have time to type their final drafts at school as well. However, if your child is having difficulty meeting deadlines, I may ask you to come to tutoring for additional support and/or time to complete.
**It is recommended you purchase a jump drive/ flash drive to save progress. They will have time to work on this in the library and Mr. Sanal's computer class, so they will be on multiple computers. Please make sure your name is written on it using Sharpie.
Third grade will have Author's Night on Monday, April 17th to displayed our books from 5-6 p.m. There will be refreshments and light snacks provide by FSAPS. It is required for your child to attend, however I will make exceptions for extraneous scenarios.
