Raba Rattler

Principal's Message
Dear Rattler Community,
We have had an incredible month of learning at Raba and we are truly settling in for a spectacular year together! It was so wonderful seeing all of you at Parent Orientation. We have received lots of feedback from parents as we started the year especially regarding the drop off and pick up. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to help us explore the best processes for our students. Now we are receiving lots and lots of positive feedback from you and we are very appreciative of the praise. We are 110% committed to serving your family and your child(ren) by providing a healthy, happy and safe school environment here at Raba.
We also know from time-to-time you may feel a little lost or frustrated. While we never intend to upset anyone, we know that when it comes to your child’s education, you are a huge part! Your feedback can help us clarify or even improve our decision making at our school. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher for clarification and of course our office staff is always available to assist. Sharing all the wonderful things that you experience is important too. Notes, emails, and phone calls to your child’s teacher can be both encouraging and inspirational. The point is, communicating with us and serving as a partner is critical!
Yours in Education,
Francesca L. Neal
Principal

Little Leadership Lesson
Did you know our district has a Student Leadership Program? The Student Leadership Program aims to empower students to: belong and contribute to a community; achieve personal goals; have healthy relationships; practice self-care and mindfulness, and make responsible and caring decisions. The Student Leadership Program is different pieces put in place by our awesome teachers to help Raba Rattlers become better leaders, and we will be doing some of those pieces through the Rattler Watch Studio morning announcements. So, stay tuned for Little Leadership Lessons! This school year, Ms. de Leon will serve as our school's Student Leadership Program Facilitator.
So far we have had the following Little Leadership Lessons during our Rattler Watch Studio morning announcements:
- What does trustworthiness look like?
- Being connected to culture and community makes us good leaders.
- Demonstrating empathy and compassion helps us foster healthy relationships.
- Using Kelso's Choices can help us resolve conflict constructively.
- Being trustworthy means being honest in all of our actions.
- Culture and community connectedness includes being an active member of the communities you belong to.
- Relationship skills involve communicating effectively and resolving conflict constructively.
