STAAR- Algebra End of Course (EOC)

Students enrolled in Algebra I will take their EOC this Tuesday, May 3rd. Just a few reminders to help your student be ready to knock the socks off this test.

  • 8th grade Athletes should not travel this day- report to Prestwick promptly by 8:20 am to begin their test.
  • Students should bring their chromebooks fully charged to utilize for testing.

Students should arrive on time. Please do your best to make sure there are not any conflicts with out of school appointments on these days for your student.

Get a good night’s rest in order to feel alert and ready to focus.

Eat a healthy breakfast either at home or at school.

Have a positive send off for your student in the am. Students should feel supported by you as well as confident that they are prepared. We know some nerves are typical and healthy. Again we will assure students that all the hard work until this point of the year is their preparation.

Spotlights on Learning

The WIN students mention Mystery Class, a search for 10 mystery locations across the globe. This year each of my 4 upper level classes participated and entered the contest. I am proud to say that all 4 classes found all 10 sites!
Gardening/Chef - Chef Nick from the Old American Golf Club visited with Prestwick Kindergarten students on the topic "How does your garden grow?"
Pioneer Day at PSA - Mrs. Mitchell, 7th grade Texas History teacher, designed and hosted events for all on April 28th. Events included roping, stick horse barrel racing, dancing, and learning about foods and transportation. Many thanks to Kellee Mitchell, 7th grade social studies teacher and all of the 7th grade team. It was great fun. Fortunately other grade levels were able to participate in portions of the lessons as well.

LOBO Athletic Tryouts

Due to weather, LOBO athletic tryouts were cancelled last week. However, do not worry we have an alternative plans for our 6th grade aspiring athletes.

Students are required to have a current physical and medical history form. Only students with completed physicals will be allowed to tryout.

Tryouts will be held at Prestwick STEM Academy on

Wednesday, May 3rd and Friday, May 4th during 6th pd in the gym. Students will be excused from classes to tryout.

*Students will go home as usual at the end of the day.
