PTA Fundraising Focus

The PTA Board will be meeting this month to discuss next year's budget. Their first question is always "What does the school need?" If you have ideas for PTA purchases that you would like to have considered please email me and let me know. Thanks!

Jason's Deli - Next Friday

Casey Willaby sent an email about ordering from Jason's Deli. The email contains a link for you to place your order and pay for your meal. If you are going to participate, please make sure you order by February 11th. Thanks! Contact Casey with questions.

Collaborative Planning - February 15

Please register for both an AM and a PM session in Eduphoria. We will NOT meet as a large group. Use the day to plan with your team, think about how you can incorporate some high-yield strategies and purposeful student talk, and do those other things that need to be done before Spring Break - i.e. STAAR Training.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks!

Staff Spotlight - Kathy Blahitka

Staff Spotlight

Where did you grow up?I grew up right here in the area. I moved from Huston in 2nd grade to Carrollton and never left. I am a true Texan.

Describe your family. I have been married to Mike for 26 years. We met in college. Our house is a bit quite these days. Two of our daughters, Leeann(20) and Lauren (18) are Hogs at the University of Arkansas. Only Allison (13) is left home to take care of us.

What university did you attend? I graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Engineering.

What is a favorite activity you do? My favorite activities are time spent with family and friends. We love to travel with our extended family.

If you had $1000 to spend on anything, what would you spend it on?If I had and extra $1,000 to spend, I would send it straight to UofA. That is where all of our funds are going these days.

What is your favorite reality TV show? I love murder mysteries and The Walking Dead.

If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

Teaching is my second career. If I wasn’t doing this I would be working or volunteering for a non-profit organization in the area.

Happy birthday this week to Joslyn Young!
