Communication Changes
Starting today, our school will begin sharing general information via text messaging and email instead of an automated phone call.
You’ll still receive automated phone calls from me, but I’ll reserve them for urgent situations and daily attendance only.
Today you should have received an opt-in message on the cell phone we have on record. I hope you will take a few moments to follow the steps to "Opt-In" to text messages. Or, you can simply opt-in to receive text messages by texting YES to the number 67587 now.
A letter was sent home with more information or you can visit www.wcpss.net/schoolmessenger.
Ring, Ring, Ring
- emergency situations
- daily attendance
- important matters that need to be discussed with a parent
Therefore, please answer your phone when you see the school number (919-662-2300). It will be important!!!
All regular communication regarding school news, information, or publicity of events will come through text messages and email.
Book Drive for WAKE Up and Read!
WAKE Up and Read is a collaborative effort to engage and educate Wake County about the importance of childhood literacy and to increase access to literacy resources and opportunities for all children. The goal is to collect 110,000 books; providing 10 books to every child in 10 elementary schools right here in Wake County.
West Lake Elementary will be collecting books in our main lobby until March 4th.
Science Fair!!
Registration deadline is February 22nd; projects must be dropped off the morning of March 1st, and families will be able to tour the science fair on March 2nd. For full details, including scheduling information and guidelines, please visit http://www.wlepta.net/?page_id=1395.
