NEWS FROM THE HEADS
At the finale of the School production ‘Alice the Musical’, I said I felt sorry for those who get up in the mornings and face their day with a glum expression. I, on the other hand, have the privilege to come into my job and work with such great people - pupils and staff.
Sports Days were a great exhibition of athletic talent and grit, superbly organised by Miss Cox (Senior) and Miss Hudson (Junior), along with the PE team. Huge thanks to Mrs Warren and Miss Goodsell for serving up the surreal delights of the musical version of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Wonderful acting, singing and dancing, wonderfully enhanced by the wizardry of our technical team lead by Mr Morgan. I do believe that our School production has gone beyond an audience simply made up of parents of the performers - it is a production that stands upon its own merit and should be seen by all.
Winding down….? No we are certainly not!
Our Sports Day this week was a triumph! Each and every girl tried their very best in their event and with great success. We saw records broken, determined efforts and super collaboration!

IMPORTANT NOTICES
Summer Holiday Reading Challenge 2014
They say reading takes you on the best journeys… so let us share yours! Once again, we are encouraging all students to take part in our Summer Reading Challenge. All girls have been given a pre-printed Reading Postcard in their House colour with the name and address of the School printed on the front. Just remember to take the postcard away with you this summer and write on the back which book you are reading… and where! Post it back to the Library and next term we will create a display of all the postcards we receive. There will be prizes for every student who returns their postcard and a House Point prize for the House that returns the most postcards… so start reading!
Looking for ideas for what to read this summer?
Why not join in with your local Library’s reading challenge? The theme this year is ‘Mythical Maze’ and it starts in all libraries on 12 July. Just read 6 books and receive a prize for each one!) See http://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/
