NEW INFO
COOPER LADY JAGS SOCCER
2019 General Information
Thank you for your interest in the Lady Jags soccer program. As we approach the Spring, we will soon launch our voluntary conditioning and training sessions that will help interested players prepare for pre-tryout training in June, and actual tryouts in July. The Lady Jags coaching staff has prepared this document to provide you with general information regarding the following:
1. The Lady Jags Soccer program;
2. Coaches’ identification and contact information; and
3. Key dates.
I. Lady Jags Soccer Program
The Cooper High School Lady Jags Soccer program is generally comprised of a Varsity team and a Junior Varsity team. Only players in 9th grade and above may participate on the Varsity team. Junior Varsity can include players from grades 7 through 12. However, per KHSAA rules, players in 7th and 8th grade are not permitted to compete against players in 11th grade or higher. Therefore, the Lady Jags JV team typically consists of girls who are in grades 7 through 10. If the number of players justifies it, consideration will be given to fielding a Freshman team in 2019, which would be comprised of girls going into grades 7 through 9.
II. Coaches’ Information
Scott Hughes is the Head Coach (Varsity and JV), and can be contacted at any time by e-mail (rshughes@fuse.net), or by cell phone (859-912-0310); and can be followed on Twitter @CooperLadyJags.
Mariann McDermott is the Assistant Coach (Varsity and JV).

February 12th Student Led Conference Options
After our last round of conferences, we sent out a survey to determine how to plan best for our next round of conferences. Thank you to the 120 who responded to our survey. It has assisted us in planning the February 12th conferences.
Our focus in planning has been:
Provide a flexible, at-home option for SLCs
Allow for specific feedback from teachers regarding student performance.
OPTION 1: Student Led Progress Conferences at Ballyshannon on February 12th from 4-7pm
Students will have a checklist to help guide them through the conference.
This conference will highlight academic mastery progress to date, your child’s personal goal using the 4DX system of goal setting, feedback from teachers regarding your child’s progress this year.
Teachers will use this time block to schedule personal conferences for students they are concerned about meeting mastery this year.
OPTION 2: Student Led Progress Conferences at Home during week of February 12th with conference video submitted to Flipgrid
Students will have a checklist to help guide them through the conference.
This conference will highlight academic mastery progress to date, your child’s personal goal using the 4DX system of goal setting, feedback from teachers regarding your child’s progress this year.
Your child will use the Flipgrid tool to record the conference and submit it to their SEL teacher by the weekend of the 16th.
