Parent University Classes
Digital Tools in Our Schools was presented by Mike Carvella on August 29th at Willow Brook Elementary School and September 4th at Glenwood. He went over the technology tools that students are using in class and how they can use these online at home. We plan to put this information on the webpage soon. This was an amazing workshop and we are so thankful to Mr. Carvella for hosting.
We would also like to thank UT Ag Ext., Family/Consumer Science and the Family Resource Center for partnering with us to provide these Parent University classes. We offer two classes a month, one in the evening and one during the day. (See the schedule below). The September workshop was presented by Laura Emhof Clark, UT Ag Ext Agent. She went over great tips on how to help your child be even more successful in school such as homework tips, organization tips and the importance of setting routines for bedtime/ morning. You can find her power point on the Title I Family Engagement page.
We appreciate the FRC for providing refreshments and door prizes. Any family member that attends at least five workshops will receive a $25 gift card. Child care is provided during the evening classes if you RSVP to AKPeters@ortn.edu.
