St Francis de Sales - 17 August 2021

TRACY'S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Ano

That was some wild weather last night and unfortunately it looks set to stay all week!

At our hui on Friday, we celebrated our learners who display our school values, the amazing principal cup winner Otto A. We were also treated to some very brave learners from Kāunga who shared their amazing writing about pīwakawaka and other fascinating native birds.

Congratulations to the following students who received a Values Certificate at School Hui on Friday:

Harriet M, Emmett C, Raffaele DG, Chiara Z, Eleni S, Mayzin T, Elijah S, Isabel P, Toby G, Max K, Emily W and Anwyn P.

Congratulations to Aubert who won the house cup for points earned from the Olympic Quiz and values cards.

Check out our wonderful learners and the pride in those smiles in the following photos.

As mentioned earlier in the term our staff and BOT would like to further work together with our learner and our whānau community to ensure that reporting from our Kaiako is timely, informative, and valued. We will be running our first community consultation on reporting to whānau – Thursday 26 August 6-7pm – you can bring along your completed whānau survey form that went home with mid-year reports. We ask that you please register your interest by emailing office@sfds.school.nz by Monday 23 August.

A huge thank you for supporting the Olympic quiz…your tamariki had lots of fun learning facts and engaging with whānau …so far it looks like we raised $5,000. Thanks to our PSL, Sarah, our teachers and staff for getting this sorted and keeping it alive for our learners.

Huge congratulations to our learners who completed the Sacrament of Communion on Sunday. We are very proud of you and the commitment you have made to the sacraments.

Stay warm and safe this week.
