Weekly Parent Info

WELCOME BACK ROOSEVELT RACCOONS!

It was an amazing first day--check out the pictures below. Here a few reminders for the week:

Birthday Books is NEW this year. In celebration of your child's birthday, the PTO would like to have each child choose a book to donate to the Roosevelt library. You will receive more specific information at the beginning of your child's birthday month, so be looking for that in your child's backpack. No worries if your child doesn't have a book--the PTO has purchased many for those who may need a book.

Coffee with the Principal: NEW this year--come to Cub Foods West from 7:30-8:30 AM on Friday, September 15 to enjoy a hot cup of coffee (courtesy of Cub) and informal conversation with me, about anything really. This is just a chance for me to chat with Roosevelt parents. We'll do this each month, with September 15th being the first opportunity to do this.

• Mark your calendar...the first PTO Meeting is Tuesday, September 12 from 5:30-6:30 PM. Please note that the time has been changed to an hour earlier than we have met in year's past. We meet in the Media Center, we work really hard to be done at 6:30, there's FREE child care in the gymnasium, AND we are a really fun, relaxed, easy-going group. Please come!!!

• The PTO Walk-A-Thon kick-off will be Friday, September 15 at 2:15 in the Roosevelt Gym. Students will get all the information they need to support the PTO's one and only fundraiser. Be looking for information to come home on this day. This year, students who raise $75 or more will receive a super cool pair of Roosevelt socks!

• Mankato West High School is happy to have elementary students at Scarlet sporting events this school year. In an effort to improve supervision and safety at these events, we would like to partner with parents by sharing our expectations for Scarlet fans in grades K – 5. Elementary students must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will supervise the student throughout the event. We appreciate your help in this matter and look forward to seeing you at West athletic events.

As always, thank you for supporting our work!
