The Rush-Bagot Agreement
The People
Richard Rush, the current secretary of state in 1812 and Charles Bagot were in a disagreement about the limitations of naval forces in the Great Lakes. There was a war starting.

He was from the U.s. Rush was the secretary of state.
Charles Bagot
Bagot was the british minister.
Epic Ship!
Just a ship. This was the main reason that there was a disagreement.
REASON
The War of 1812 was starting and there was a lake-territory dispute between the british minister and the U.S. secretary of state. Each country was allowed not more than one ship on Lake champlain, one on Lake Ontario, and one in each of the upper lakes.
SOLUTION!
The disagreement was finally put to rest inApril 1818, six years later, when James Monroe proposed with the British government that they finally end the dispute. So
The Convention of 1818
The People
Illinois was being admitted to the union. Illinois and Congress were discussing illinois's government.
Reason
Since Illinois was joining the union, Congress wanted them to create a state government or not.
Solution
Finally, in July of that same year, people eventually wrote a document that decided and organized a state government, established a system of justice, and attempted to deal with the issue of slavery which sort of kind of worked.
Adams-Onis Treaty
The People
The Adams-Onis Treaty was between the countries Spain and the U.S. Their representatives were John Adams and Don Luis de OnĂs.
Reason
Spain and America were in a kerfuffle over territory in Texas. They were calling the border the "U.S.-Mexico border"

Solution
On February 22, 1819 a treaty was signed and ratified on october 24, 1820. Finally, America had possession of some of Texas. It took money and a document, but they finally got ove their difficulty.
