Mountaineer Messages

May 28, 2021

Hello Mountaineer Families,

It has been so wonderful to see the amazing learning and things that students have been doing in their classrooms. I just want to start off with a reminder that we will not be having school on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Memorial Day is one of our nation’s most important holidays. It is a time to step back and reflect upon all the men and women who have served our nation with honor, courage, and sacrifice. As someone who comes from a military family, I know this to be true. To all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and to those who have served in the past and those who are currently serving… WE THANK YOU!!!

I also know that as we hit Memorial Day, the natural urge to feel like summer is just around the corner starts to come up. There are some end of year things that we need you to be aware of that are coming up. I know that some of you are planners like me, and here is the list of things that will be coming up very quickly:

  • June 1st Library books need to be returned and any missing books will have a fine assigned

  • June 7th: Students who attend in person will need to return their chromebooks, along with all associated cables and such.

  • June 11th: Prescreening for incoming Kindergarten students! If you have a kiddo who will be 5 before September 1st, please get their Kindergarten registration completed!

  • June 14th: Kindergarten-3rd Grade Field Day. Make sure your Mountaineer has appropriate shoes, and an extra mask

  • June 15th: 4th-5th Field Day. Make sure your Mountaineer has appropriate shoes, and an extra mask

  • June 15th: Last day of school for students who attend in person!

  • June 16th: Report Cards will post to Family Access

Have a great three day weekend! Stay safe and well!
