Poetic Examples
One poetic example the poem's uses is Point-of-View. The point-of-view is First person. Here is an example:
"I bring fresh showers for the thirsting flowers,
From the seas and the streams" He shows that he's speaking of himself by him mentioning that he's bringing water to flowers. Here is another example:
"I bear light shade for the leaves when laid
In their noonday dreams" When the noun "I" shows up, it clarifies that person is speaking of themselves.
Personification is used a lot in this poem and are very noticeable. Here is an example:
"I am the daughter of Earth and Water,
And the nursling of the Sky,
I pass through the pores of the oceans and shores; I change but cannot die." Right here the clouds are representing that they are the daughter of the Earth and Water. Here is another example: "The stars peep behind her and peer:
And I laugh to see them whirl and flee,
Like a swarm of golden bees,
When I widen the rent in my wind-built tent, Till the claim rivers, lakes, and seas," It makes me think about a swarm of bees flying around freely.
