Universal Screener Training on Wednesday, April 27th
Wednesday, April 27th, our RtI specialist, Jamie Nair, will be on campus to train all teachers on how to use the new Universal Screener. This training will take place in the conference room during your planning time and should last between 30-45 minutes. Jamie will do a quick overview of the screener, and then the rest of the time is devoted to rating students. The data from the screener will be entered into eCST so that the teachers receiving the students next year will have some idea of each student's needs as the year begins. This data will assist the Doss staff in ensuring a smooth transition for each student. Please bring your laptop. If you have any questions, please see Alicia.
Rock STAAR Notes!
Be sure you return your HOT PINK accommodations form to Vickie no later than Wednesday, 4/27. It's important that we receive these on time. If you need assistance, let us know!

Computer Lab News
The new Chromebooks arrived at Doss on Monday, 4/18! I am working with each teacher individually to distribute the devices. The Chromebooks will be turned back into the lab in June and redistributed in August based on the number of students and classes at Doss. I can sign out a Chromebook for any of the teachers to look at over the Summer. Some initial Chromebook training: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1GgS7OhP6cJB9OruJZKpqii2oXhQ-IQF3MSIEPHa_1JE/edit#slide=id.gbb2bd42fd_0_195.
The tablets for the primary grades should be here before the end of school.
Mexico Program Details

What Are the Signs of Abuse?
Children who are abused might show physical signs or sudden changes in their behavior or school performance. These signs don't prove that children are being abused, but they could be a signal that the children or their families need help.
When children talk about being abused, take them seriously. Take steps to get help!
General Signs of Abuse
Abused children might seem:
· Nervous around adults or afraid of certain adults.
· Reluctant to go home (coming to school early or staying late, for example).
· Very passive and withdrawn or aggressive and disruptive.
· Tired a lot, or they might complain of nightmares or not sleeping well.
· Fearful and anxious.
Signs of Neglect
· Missing school a lot.
· Begging for food, stealing food, or stealing money for food.
· Lacking needed medical or dental care.
· Being frequently dirty.
· Using alcohol or other drugs.
· Saying there is no one at home to take care of them.
Thank you for all that you do,
