Update on "Check in off-site copies" Feature

A glitch related to this new Destiny 17 feature has been discovered. It has been temporarily turned off at the District (RICAT) level until the issue is resolved. We will notify you when it has been turned back on.

Destiny Discover Now Includes Interlibrary Loan

Students using Destiny Discover can now place their own interlibrary loan requests from Destiny Discover. To enable this, you must make a change in the Access Level assigned to students when they are logged in. Usually students are assigned Patron Access Level (default). This same change can be made for any other Access Levels, such as Teacher, that you want to allow to place ILL requests (Holds) or search other RILINK libraries.


Get the directions for doing this and see what it will look like to your students at https://guides.rilink.org/beyond_help/help#s-lg-box-wrapper-25855990. You will still need to approve each ILL request in Destiny Classic.

Destiny Discover Is Very Sticky

Once you go to one Destiny Discover site, you cannot go to another by using the Destiny Discover URL for the other site. The first DD site you go to is the only one that you can go to, with a Destiny Discover URL, unless you delete your browser cookies. Follett has recommended two work-arounds for this:

  1. Go back to Destiny from Destiny Discover and use the toggle gear to go to your other site. Or, go to ricat.net to choose your other site if you have a different login for the second site. Then choose Destiny Discover from Destiny Classic at the other site.

  2. Go to destinydiscover.com and click on the padlock. Then choose Rhode Island and start typing to find your other school.

How to Find Out What’s New in Destiny

To find out what’s new in Destiny Discover, go to the menu by clicking on the hamburger symbol while you are logged in. Scroll down the resulting column to Help. On the Help page, scroll down to find the What’s New button.

Want to make suggestions, enhancement requests? In Destiny Discover a Help Us Improve button is available on the right hand side towards the bottom of the page. Any user can send immediate feedback, good or bad, about the page or function they are using at the moment. To suggest an enhancement go to the Follett Customer Portal and login.


Need a login? To create an account you will need your Follett Customer Number. You will find the number in Back Office/Site Configuration/Site Info.

LORI Deliveries Resume

LORI deliveries to schools will resume the week of September 16. Please review the LORI Library Delivery Schedules page for updates (page will be viewable the week of September 16.)

PebbleGo Gets an Update

This fall, PebbleGo will be fully mobile-responsive with a new look and features for access on smartphones and tablets as well as computers. In order meet accessibility needs and requirements, PebbleGo will be Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 AA compliant. Librarians and teachers will be able to discover new and creative ways to make the most of PebbleGo using the Capstone Community at https://community.mycapstone.com. Students using the Animals and Science PebbleGo databases will be able to dive deeper into research or interests with optional, read-aloud eBooks.


Libraries, who are currently subscribing to PebbleGo through RILINK and want to add new databases to their current subscription, should do so before December 31, 2019. Prices will go up as of January 1, 2020.


If you are a PebbleGo subscriber, but are not currently ordering through RILINK, please be aware that subscription pricing will be going up as of January 1, 2020. If you renew through RILINK now, you can renew at the current RILINK pricing. You can also ask Dorothy for your vendor ID to add PebbleGo to OneSearch or a login to get usage statistics.
