Our Return To Full In Person Learning

April always brings about change, but this year is certainly going to be a record-setting one. We are very excited to welcome students back into JRB for 5 days of in-person learning. Our recent survey results pointed to a few topics that needed to be addressed, so here is our best attempt:

VACCINE FOR STAFF

Many of our staff members have taken advantage of vaccine appointments and will have received their first dose prior to April 5th.

BUS TRANSPORTATION

We would like to encourage as many families as possible to use our buses. The regulations for bussing were lifted on February 11th. Students will remain masked on the bus at all times and have assigned seats.

LUNCH

Students will continue to sit a least 6 feet apart in our cafeteria. We will be using the entire cafeteria and some of the gymnasium to make this happen.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Students' desks will be spaced at least 3 feet apart. We will continue to remind students to give everyone around them space when traveling in the hallways as well.

SNACK/MASK BREAKS

Students will maintain at least 6 feet of distance from one another. Snack and mask breaks can be held outside as often as possible when the weather is good. For inclement weather days, we will provide a schedule for classes to have snacks in our other large spaces.

CLEANING/CUSTODIAL STAFF

We will continue to maintain cleaning procedures. Our custodians are working nonstop at least 6 days a week to keep our buildings clean and safe.

EXTENDED DAY

At this time we are not able to offer extended day. We will continue to revisit this as the year progresses.

Pool Testing

The district's effort to offer pool testing in school is still ongoing. If you wish to sign up, please click here.

Afternoon PreK parents, since the testing needs to take place in the morning, there is a slight change for you. If you signed up for the pool testing and your child attends afternoon PreK at Learning Tree, we would ask that you drive to the K-5 parent drop-off circle Monday morning at 8:45 and park. Our staff will then come out to your vehicle for the testing.

Important Chromebook Information

We are so excited that we were finally able to distribute Chromebooks. Please refer to these two videos with assistance in how to set up and take care of your AWRSD Chromebook.

What To Do When the Device Doesn’t Work

Please fill out the AWRSD Technical Support Request Form (bit.ly/awrsd-help-form) if a student is having trouble with a school-issued device.
