Hi Parents,
Here's our focus for 1st grade in Social Skills for September - Friendships
Friendships can have a major impact on your health and well-being. When each friend feels valued, accepted, loved, they feel respected. Friendships that share respect allow for us to build trust, feelings of safety, and well-being. This month's focus for 1st grade is on practicing respect with our friendships.
Here's our focus for 2nd grade in Social Skills for September - Conflict Resolution
We all experience conflict in life. Whether we are frustrated with a friend or in an argument with a family member, we need tools to help us navigate conflict successfully and keep our relationships healthy. This month's focus for 2nd grade is on practicing respect to understand conflict resolution.

OMGoodness Book Fair is This Week!
Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the
one you can influence the most.
We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair® and experience a celebration of reading that
provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to
read every day so they can lead better lives.
Reading is vital to every child’s success, and raising kids as readers means getting involved
while they’re young. Now is the time. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct
involvement in his/her child’s education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair. Hope to see
you there!
Book Fair Dates: September 12th-15th
Shopping Hours: Mon-Wed 3-5pm, Thursday 1:30-8pm
