Weather
A Message from our District
CVSD Families & Staff:
As we continue to monitor the weather, please be aware we will drive the roads beginning at 3am on icy/snowy mornings. Should there be a needed change to school schedules, such as delays or closures, we will notify families and staff by 5:15am directly via phone, email and text message.
You may also check our website under “delays and closures” at https://www.cvsd.org/delays or go to any of our school web home pages for a pop-up message with any details.
We also expect bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills. Please know we have extreme cold weather guidelines in place to help keep students safe. These include adjusted morning building access and recess location modifications, based on wind chill factor and outside temperatures.
We would ask that you plan now to warmly bundle your students for cold and snowy weather! Coats, hats, and gloves are highly recommended.
As always, if your student is unable to get to school safely on time, or at all, please call your school's attendance line to provide an excused absence.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate the weather and work in the best interest and safety of our students, families and staff.
A Message from our Custodians
The weather is getting cooler and we have actually had a bit of snow. We have found that snow boots scuff up our floors in the classrooms, cafeteria, and gymnasiums and are difficult for our custodial staff to remove. We would like to ask if you could please share with your students who wear snow boots to school that it would greatly help to bring along a change of shoes. Your help in this is greatly appreciated!
