Last Day of School Is Monday June 27th
A Message From Mrs. O'Shaughnessy
- Our Student Council took office.
- Our actors and actresses took the stage,
- Our musicians were able to play shoulder to shoulder with other students.
- Our artists created beautiful works of art while learning about prominent artists,
- Our engineers learned hands on STEAM activities, even creating on our 3D printers
- Our authors created books
- Our entire school became dancers, Thank you to Mr. E!
- Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders became Chess Players
- Our Cooking Club met weekly in our own kitchen to prepare delicious and healthy food
- Our multi-language learners met other students who are learning and spent Saturdays together with our amazing staff and resident artist from Creative Art Works
- Our students had the opportunity to spend after school with our amazing teachers and related service providers getting extra support
- And of course our amazing CBO Greater Ridgewood Youth Council provided our students with an amazing after school experience.
There is so much learning going on everyday in many ways. Next year we have so many more ideas on how to support each and every one of our scholars!

- Students future class will be sent to you in August (like last year).
- A "back to school" event will be held in early September, for a meet and greet.
- Summer Rising for students attending begins July 5

Can I Keep My DOE or School Issued Device?
- A student has a device issued by CENTRAL DOE (iPad or Chromebook with a cellular data plan) and the student is returning to your school in September: STUDENT KEEPS THE DEVICE OVER THE SUMMER
- A student has a device issued by CENTRAL DOE (iPad or Chromebook with a cellular data plan) and the student is transferring to another DOE school in September: STUDENT KEEPS THE DEVICE OVER THE SUMMER
- A student has a device issued by CENTRAL DOE (iPad or Chromebook with a cellular data plan) and the student is leaving the NYCDOE (not returning in September): RECALL DEVICE BY JUNE 27
- A student has a device issued by the SCHOOL (school purchased) and the student is returning to your school in September: STUDENT KEEPS THE DEVICE OVER THE SUMMER
- A student has a device issued by the SCHOOL (school purchased) and the student is transferring to another DOE school in September: RECALL DEVICE BY JUNE 27 -AND- ISSUE a CENTRAL DOE device if the student is attending summer rising.
- A student has a device issued by the SCHOOL (school purchased) and the student is leaving the NYCDOE (not returning in September): RECALL DEVICE BY JUNE 27

Summer Chess
We will be hosting a free online Camp starting on Tuesday, July 5th that will run Monday-Friday on Zoom and ChessKid from 9AM to 11AM each day.
We will have lessons between 9am -10am and we will have puzzles and tournaments on ChessKid from 10am-11am.

2022-2023 Calendar
This is the 2022–23 school year calendar for all 3K–12 NYCDOE public schools. If your child attends a private, parochial, charter school, NYCEEC Early Childhood Community-Based Organization or Family Childcare Program, please contact your child’s school for information about their calendar.
Please note the following:
- November 8, Election Day, is a non-attendance day for students. No in-person or remote instruction will be provided.
- On “Snow days” or days when school buildings are closed due to an emergency, all students and families should plan on participating in remote learning.
- Individual schools’ Parent-Teacher Conference dates might be different from the dates below. Your child’s teacher will work with you to schedule your conference.
