The Library Makerspace is in need of fabric

- any color or pattern welcome. We were fortunate to get a donation of a sewing machine and would like to have students create a simple sewing activity. If you have any fabric that you would like to donate - please drop off at the Office and /or email Mrs. deMello in the Library . Thank you

We are still collecting Film Plastics!

Winter is here!

If the school is closed because of bad weather or another emergency, announcements will be made by the district via voicemail. Local radio and television stations also post school closings.

As we are heading into the winter months, it's a good time to remember to take extra care in the mornings and afternoons dropping off/picking up kids from KP and neighborhoods. Snowbanks limit visibility and often constrict roads and walkways. Please remember to leave a little extra time to make sure that all of our students are safe.

In the event of an early closing, it is best for your child(ren) to have a safe and secure place to go. Review the plan you have put in place that identifies where your child needs to go if school closes early. Take the time to write this plan in your child's agenda for a quick and easy reference.

Due to the cold, our diesel buses will be idling more often in the bus loops. This is necessary to keep them running and is under strict guidelines with the transportation and busing company. If you are picking your child up from school during the winter months, we encourage you to limit vehicle idling on school property to help the environment.

"Public Act 16-189

We believe that it is vital for all students in West Hartford Public Schools to be able to efficiently and effectively use digital tools that empower them in all phases of the learning process, including research, problem solving, content creation, communication, and collaboration. We also believe that we must be committed at all times to protecting students' privacy and providing them with a powerful and safe educational experience. To that end, the West Hartford Public Schools follow the legal requirements of Public Act 16-189 to promote the safety and security of all students and staff.

In compliance with Connecticut State Law, we update online programs used within the district that house student data. The programs may be used district-wide, in a very small number of classrooms, or with individual students. The list will be updated each time the district enters into a new contract where student data is housed.
