Next week is Student- Parent- Teacher conferences. Your child is invited to come to the conference to share things with you. If you are scheduled during the day while they are at lunch they are still welcome to come. We will make sure they have time to finish lunch in the classroom if needed.

The kids helped come up with a plan of things that they want to share during conferences. If they come with you they will guide the conference and share different things with you. If they are not here we will lead the conference without them. This will be a great experience to learn about your child and all of their accomplishments.

We are in need index cards for word study time. If you would like to donate some to the class that would be great.

Thanks for your support. We can't wait to chat next week!

Realistic Fiction: We will be looking at elements of plot and problem and solution.

Math: Our unit on place value continues! Next week we will be focusing on ordering numbers (least to greatest/greatest to least), finding patterns on the 100s chart and skip counting by 5, 10, 100 and 1,000. The students are working super hard during our math block!

Inquiry/ Genius Hour: Students will begin researching different things that they are interested in. We will begin a guided inquiry project.

Social Studies: This week we had a great time sharing and learning about the traditions, customs and origins of the families in our class. Next week we will wrap up our first unit by discussing how people help communities.
