BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU'S FOR REMOTE WEEK
MCSS Family
Like many other school districts, the Madison County School System is experiencing a high number of Covid positive cases among its staff. The staffing shortage, including substitutes, is hampering our ability to operate schools safely and effectively. Based on this information, the decision was made to transition to 100% REMOTE LEARNING. This transition is effective Friday, January 21, 2022, and continues through Friday, January 28, 2022. In-person learning for students will return on Monday, January 31, 2022.
Teachers and staff will report to their classroom/office/workspace unless directed otherwise by your principal. Principals will determine and announce online office hours.
Employees may bring their children with them to work, provided they are COVID negative, not showing symptoms, and monitored in their room during the workday.
Lunches will continue to be provided to students. Schools will provide more information regarding pick-up times and locations.
Additional guidance will be provided from your supervisor.
Thank you,

MVMS COVID-19 UPDATE
In accordance with the MCSS Ready, Set, Forward plan, schools at or above 2.5% in positive COVID cases will transition to masks required for all students and staff while indoors. In addition, the mask requirement applies to all indoor school-sponsored events held on the Meridianville Middle School campus. Once the positive number of cases falls below 0.5% for five (5) consecutive school days, the campus will move back to masks being optional at Level 1 of our COVID plan. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the school office. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance with keeping our students and staff safe. The current percentage of positive COVID cases at Meridianville MS is 2.5%.
Meridianville Middle School will implement the requirement for masks beginning tomorrow, January 13, 2022.
Respectfully,
Cameron Whitlow, Principal

2021-2022 Ready, Set, Forward Plan Amendment
Madison County Schools family,
As the 2021-2022 school year has progressed, we have continually evaluated how COVID-19 impacts our district. Thanks to your diligence in assisting us during the pandemic, MCSS can now begin to amend some of the guidelines we outlined in our Ready, Set, Forward Plan. These changes are listed below.
- On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, MCSS will transfer all COVID-19 contact tracing to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
- On Friday, October 29, 2021, if positive COVID-19 numbers remain below 0.5% system-wide, MCSS will implement the following change to LEVEL 1; the use of masks will become optional for students and staff, beginning Monday, November 1, 2021. However, due to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements, students and staff must wear masks while on all buses.
Beginning Monday, November 1, 2021, the following protocol will be used on a school by school basis:
- If an individual school reaches a 2.5% positivity rate, they will move to masks required at Level 1.
- If an individual school reaches a 5.0% positivity rate, they will move to masks required at Level 1, and the school nurses will take over the COVID-19 contact tracing for that campus.
- When a school falls below 0.5% positivity rate for five consecutive school days, they will return to masks optional at Level 1
The Madison County Board of Education will continue to evaluate the impact COVID-19 has on the school district and will modify protocols as needed.
We thank you for your grace and help during this unprecedented time in our history.
Mr. Allen Perkins
Superintendent, Madison County Schools

2-1-1 System
An amazing resource is available every hour of every day to families and individuals in need of essential human services – 2-1-1. The 2-1-1 system is for human services needs what 9-1-1 is for emergency needs. In North Alabama, 2-1-1 is provided through Crisis Services of North Alabama in partnership with United Way. Last year, the 2-1-1 Call Center in Huntsville answered more than 37,000 calls from across the state with more than 20,000 of those calls being from North Alabama alone. The majority of callers requested help with basic needs—such as utilities, rent, food, and housing. During times of disaster, 2-1-1 has been critical in assisting both disaster victims and disaster relief providers to make connections. 2-1-1 can be accessed through a statewide website (www.211connectsalabama.org) as well as through our local call center. Your Superintendent Council representative has a flyer and magnets promoting this program. This will be a great resource for our community.
