22 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School

Panthers,
Wow! We are already three weeks into another fantastic school year. As I have begun sitting down and visiting with our seniors about their experience at CHHS, it is exciting to hear stories of great times and relationships made during their time as a Panther. It continues to reiterate to me the importance of being involved in some form of extra-curricular program while a student is in high school. For the students who may be new and need a friend, or for the wayward freshman looking for a place to belong, there is always something for every Panther that walks through the doors at CHHS.
Many of our programs are in full swing this early in the year. Our volleyball program begins their push for a district championship tonight as they travel to Saginaw for their first district game. Our cross country kids have begun their trek across Texas with great meets the past two weeks. Last Friday night was a great display by so many of our student groups at the first football game of the year. The band, Panteras, cheerleaders, pep boys, and of course the football team, displayed tons of Panther PRIDE. I am excited to see what week two of performances hold by these groups as we all head over to Southlake tonight as the visiting school. Hope to see you all there! Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!

Student Voice
Define what PRIDE means to you at CHHS.
Others may see pride as a negative, something that can be seen on others as a possibly ugly trait. But at CHHS, we have completely changed the meaning of that word. I see pride as something that I can hold on to as a student and as a leader. Because at CHHS, we are a school full of leaders. At my school, I see large amounts of leaders who are willing and able to take on the challenges that are in front of them. We are a school full of talent. CHHS has some of the most amazing students who have accomplished amazing feats. We are a school full of hope for the future and what will come with it. The Panthers have inspired others throughout their high school career that you can always look forward to the future and always improve. We are... CHHS Panthers.

SENIORS 2019 PROJECT GRADUATION
Mustang Panther Stadium Reserved Seats
We are so excited to welcome fans to the new Mustang Panther Stadium in the Fall of 2018! As part of the renovations, there is a new seating layout, which will require all current season ticket holders to select their new seats beginning with the 2018 varsity season. Additionally, the renovation includes new seats for all home spectators, including seats in the shade and those with chair backs. For these reasons, the District has adjusted the reserved season ticket prices. Beginning with the 2018-2019 varsity season, the following ticket prices apply:
Premium Reserved $15 per seat per game
Regular Reserved $12 per seat per game
For your convenience, we have attached a map of the new seating layout at Mustang Panther Stadium so that you may begin to review where you would like your new reserved seats to be located. Prior to opening season ticket sales to the general public, all current season ticket holders will have the opportunity to secure their new seats. Beginning August 6 at 8 a.m. through August 10, this may be done online or in-person at the GCISD Swim Center located at 2305 Pool Road. To purchase tickets online, please visit the following ticket sales sites:
Grapevine High School Varsity Football
Colleyville Heritage High School Varsity Football
For fans who wish to become new season ticket holders, that purchase window is August 13-24. After August 24, fans will be able to purchase individual tickets throughout the season; however, there will not be an option to purchase season tickets after August 24. As a reminder, all season ticket sales are final.
Those wishing to purchase general admission tickets may do so beginning August 13 throughout the duration of the varsity season. Pre-sale tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students; however, after noon on game day, all general admission tickets will cost $8. During the school year, general admission tickets are available for purchase at the GCISD Swim Center.
If you have any questions regarding the season ticket purchase process for this year, or any other ticket questions regarding Mustang Panther Stadium, please call 817-251-5350.
We look forward to seeing you this season at Mustang Panther Stadium.
Mustang Panther Stadium
As we wrap up another great school year in GCISD, we are already looking ahead to next fall and the re-opening of Mustang Panther Stadium. I am sure that most of you have observed the progress on the facility while driving down Highway 26, but I am also sure that many of you have asked the question, “will this be ready by August?”
This year, Texas had a significant amount of rain, compounded with high winds, which has unfortunately delayed the completion date for the project. We have been working diligently with our football coaches and their respective opponents to make any necessary adjustments to the schedule. As a result, we have made the following changes:
Week One:
August 30: Grapevine v. Azle at Dragon Stadium
August 31: Colleyville Heritage v. North Forney at Dragon Stadium
Week Two:
September 7: Grapevine v. Abilene Cooper at Apogee Stadium (UNT)
September 7: Colleyville Heritage v. Carroll at Dragon Stadium
Week Three:
September 13: Colleyville Heritage v. Trinity at Pennington Field
September 13: Grapevine v. Northwest at Northwest Stadium
Week Four:
September 21: Bye week for both teams
At this time, the first planned home game for the 2018 season is the Colleyville Heritage homecoming game against Newman Smith High School on September 28.
We understand that this is not ideal for our families, fans and especially our players; however, the weather and its impact on construction is beyond our control. We have worked with neighboring districts to have great places for our students to perform and I am confident that our students, fans and community will show up and support our teams during these first few weeks of the season.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during the stadium construction. It will all be worth it when we are enjoying the performances from our students at the new Mustang Panther Stadium!

GCISD and Let’s Talk
In May 2015, GCISD launched the two-way communication tool Let’s Talk. This platform provided the opportunity for parents, community members, staff and students to submit a question, concern, suggestion or anonymous dialogue to any campus or department across the District. Since its inception, the District has received more than 1,900 dialogues on a variety of topics.
Prior to approving the 2018-2019 budget, the District conducted a cost analysis of Let’s Talk and made the determination to discontinue services based on increased contract costs. While GCISD wants to have an easy way for people in the community to connect with the District, there is also a strong commitment to being fiscally responsible.
Let’s Talk will no longer be available beginning on Wednesday, August 1. We value open communication and we want everyone to be able to easily communicate with the correct district or campus staff so that your questions or concerns may be addressed. To provide parents, community members, staff and students with an opportunity to get in contact with their respective campus or the district, email addresses have been created and will be monitored daily by staff. To view a list of the email addresses, click here.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the move away from Let’s Talk, please email us at info@gcisd.net.
GCISD y Hablemos (Let’s Talk)
REMINDER: Parents, we need your input!
Beginning September 4, we will be hosting three scheduled parent input sessions right here on our campus. These sessions will be 45-50 minutes long and we will be capping each session at 10 people. These sessions are first come first served. If you are interested in sharing your experience with the GCISD, please sign up using this google form. Please make sure you are selecting a time slot for your respective campus.
VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK
All volunteers at CHHS (and for any GCISD school) must complete the following Volunteer Background Authorization form. All volunteers are required to reapply each year at this link: Volunteer Background Check. Click on Volunteer Handbook and complete this training. You may complete the online background check or download and print one to submit.

SUMMER VOLUNTEER HOURS
If you did any volunteering for your favorite CHHS program this summer, please submit your volunteer hours for June, July and August 2018 and encourage other volunteers to do the same. PTSA collects the number of volunteer hours, so that GCISD can use them for applying for grants and other uses. This is only parent hours, not students’ Community Scholar hours (see CSAP program guidelines on the Counseling website about that). Submit your hours in 2 minutes at this link: Volunteer hours
