Week of January 25th
A message from the Principal
Next week, all students in grades K-5 will be taking the iReady assessment online. For students in grades 1-5 that completed the diagnostic test in the fall, this benchmark assessment will be used to note progress as well as areas in need of further development. Kinder students will take the initial diagnostic assessment. More information on iReady can be found here: Grades 1-5 iReady, Kindergarten iReady
While students will be taking these assessments from home it is CRITICAL that students complete them independently. Parents, please do not help students with any of the questions. iReady results are NOT part of your child's grades. The results guide students' future lessons in iReady and we want to make sure that the lessons they are assigned match their individual needs.
Intervention is more important now than ever before. Our teachers are working hard to support students to fill in any learning gaps they may have. However, we need your help! We are finding low participation in the afternoons when intervention often occurs. Should your child be invited to an intervention by their teacher, we are asking for your assistance in getting your child to those meets. If you have questions about intervention in your child's classroom, please reach out to your child's teacher.
As always, please know that we are here to help. Feel free to call the school, stop by the virtual help desk (details found below) or email us with questions or concerns.
We so appreciate our Paloma family!
Warmly,
Kim Parente
Principal
