Principal's Message
Greetings, Madison Families,
Happy October!
What a remarkable month September has been. October brings the beautiful autumn colors. It is that time of year to enjoy the cool weather and gather as a community to celebrate the good things that we enjoy. Please join me in giving a huge shout-out to teachers; they have been remarkable this first month of school and have been working relentlessly to ensure your student has the best possible experience for this school year. Our teachers at Madison are phenomenal, and I am truly humbled to work alongside them.
It was great to see so many families at our Meet and Greet event in September. We have had a smooth start to the school year. This is due to the efforts of families, who send positive messages about school to the children we serve. I also want to welcome our new families, and I hope you are starting to feel a part of the Madison Community.
Thank you for your continuous partnership in the success of our Madison students.
Dr.Corneille, Principal

Curriculum Night
“Curriculum Night” at Madison Elementary School will take place on October 17th, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The purpose of curriculum night is for parents and guardians to meet with classroom teachers and or specialists to learn about grade level curriculum and expectations for the school year.
Curriculum Night will be in three sessions. Families may attend any one of the scheduled sessions to visit classrooms and meet with teachers. Teachers will present important information about grade-level standards, expectations, daily schedule, curriculum, and more during each session.
Specialists and school counselor will be stationed in the courtyard to meet and connect with families. We will be serving refreshments after each session in the courtyard.
Session 1: 5:30-6:00pm
Session 2: 6:10-6:40pm
Session 3: 6:50-7:20pm
We hope many parents and guardians can attend curriculum night at Madison. If you have any questions regarding curriculum night, please contact Dr. Corneille: the principal, or Ms. Lee: the assistant principal.
Let’s Connect
In an effort to engage in two-way conversations with families, Everett Public Schools holds hour long Let’s Connect sessions to allow families to engage on a topic with either district or school administrators and provide input on specific topics.
The first Let’s Connect of the school year is scheduled for October 6 from 6-7 p.m. and is ‘in-person’ where we will talk about your student's academic needs and what student achievement means to you. Madison Elementary School will host all region 1 for our first session. Interpreters from prominent languages will be on site.
Please see the location information below for each region’s session and the graphic below to determine the schools in each region.
Region One: Madison ES - Cafeteria
Region Two: Evergreen MS - Cafeteria
Region Three: Heatherwood MS – Cafeteria
Madison Families, we are looking forward to your attendance at this event! The goal is to have more Madison families than any other school within region 1.

Content includes a selection of pre-recorded videos and how-to documents that can be viewed at any time. You will find Parent University, at www.everettsd.org/ParentUniversity.
Safety reminders
As mornings become darker and darker, drivers, please keep an eye out for students walking and waiting at their bus stops. Families, please have your students wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and the flashing lights and stop sign to be fully out before they cross the street. Here is great graphic showing when to stop for school buses, and if you are ever in doubt--STOP! Other safety reminders include:
- Students and parents should wait on the curb when waiting for the school bus, not off the curb or in the street.
- Do not stand in school crosswalks; obey crossing guards if present.
- Be focused and aware when walking in school parking lots. We encourage walkers to stay off their cell phones while walking. Dark mornings may make it difficult for drivers to see walkers.
- Bicyclists must abide by the same laws as drivers, which means they must stop for school buses when applicable.
- If possible, wear lighter clothing/coats or add something reflective on darker clothing.
Did you miss a call from us?
If you missed a call from your school, please first check your voice mail, email or mobile app for the message rather than calling the school. Schools are often inundated with phone calls from parents after they send an automated call and cannot answer all the calls. If messaging is still not being delivered, then you will need to update your contact information at your school. If your contact information has changed, please let your school know so they can update the system to be able to successfully reach you.
