Shine Bright with Supt. Rebecca A. Jenkins
Dear District 70 Families:
We are thrilled to introduce Annette McBride as the prospective new principal of Copeland Manor School, awaiting final approval from the Board of Education on Monday night.
Annette is a Libertyville resident and comes to us with a rich background in educational leadership, currently serving as the principal of Joyce Kilmer Elementary School in Buffalo Grove, IL. Her journey there began as assistant principal before stepping into her current role, where she has made significant contributions over the past three years. Her prior experience includes being assistant principal of Student Services at Round Lake Community Unit District 116 and having spent years in the classroom as an elementary Spanish teacher in Glencoe School District 35 and a bilingual teacher in Palatine School District 15 and Cyrstal Lake School District 47.
Annette was a clear standout candidate from the beginning. She says, “I am thrilled to embark on this incredible journey as Copeland Manor’s new principal! Joining this vibrant community fills me with boundless excitement and anticipation for the adventures and achievements that lie ahead. Together, we’ll continue to foster a nurturing environment where every child's potential is realized and celebrated. It’s clear from the work already happening in the building that this is a great team focused on engaging students in their growth on every level. Here's to a future filled with learning, laughter, and limitless possibilities!”
Annette’s qualifications extend beyond experience. She holds two master's degrees in School Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. Her academic credentials are complemented by a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Northern Illinois University, an elementary education certification from Judson University, and an ESL/Bilingual education endorsement from Concordia University.
Please join me in welcoming Annette to our District 70 community. We are fortunate to have found someone who cares deeply for the students and staff in our district, and we look forward to our continued growth together.
Shine Bright,
Rebecca

We Need Parents/Guardians to Share Their Voice in the 5Essentials Survey!
Please share your voice by completing the 5Essentials survey and helping guide the future of education in District 70.
5Essentials is an online survey designed to seek input from students, parents, and staff to drive continuous improvement in our schools. Each public school district in Illinois is required to participate in the 5Essentials. We need help to reach the 20 percent of parents/guardians needed to take the survey so a report will be generated on all survey data from families.
Students in grades 4 and 5 will be completing the survey during school as well to provide their feedback for each of the five District 70 schools.
