Galveston ISD Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Marley Purcell is a Ball High senior looking forward to graduation and ready to get out into the world and make a difference. Mia Galindo is a junior who often thinks about her future and what is in store for her beyond this year. The girls are not only good friends, but share an emotional connection to each other...a connection that never existed before they became SEL-fies (Social Emotional Learning- Friends in Education).

Galveston County Deputy Claus Program
The Galveston County Deputy Claus program provides Christmas to children (ages 1 month to 18 years) in Galveston County. This yearly program coordinates with elementary school counselors to identify families that need help making Christmas possible for their children.

BHS Band
Ball High Band member and keyboardist extraordinaire Megan Maxwell has been named to the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Area Band. Megan has been performing on synthesizer and speaking voice throughout the marching season. Congratulations and good luck to Megan as she moves forward to be considered be for the TMEA All-State Band!

BHS Tornettes
Congratulations to Summer Simonin for being selected for the TDEA (Texas Dance Educators Association) All-State in January! She is a 4-year Tornette and current Colonel of the team.
She is not only an outstanding leader and dancer, but also excels in the classroom. Her hard work and dedication have made her an exemplary representative for Ball High School and Galveston ISD.

Central Middle School Veterans' Day Parade
Central MS will be hosting a Veterans’ Day Parade in front of the school on Thursday, November 11. If you, or anyone you know is an active member in our armed forces or have previously served, please RSVP to participate. RSVP: Stephaniejoseph@gisd.org
The parade will take place on Sealy Street at 8:30 a.m. between 30th and 33rd Street.
