Kindergarten Parent Meeting
Mid-Year Curriculum Meeting
Please join us to learn more about what we're doing in kindergarten!
As a former kindergarten teacher, I know that kindergarten is such an amazing time of growth and development for young children. Although the elements of our program have a lot of consistency throughout the school year, as the kids develop independence and emergent math, literacy, and social skills, a lot changes in the classroom. We want to share this with all of you!
We invite you to join us to learn more about how the curriculum advances throughout the school year as well as information about the specific units of study your child is working on now and for the rest of their kindergarten year.
This meeting will include reflections on the year so far, a lot of information about the curriculum, most recent literacy assessment data, and benchmarks for the rest of the school year in literacy and math. We will also provide time and space for casual community building (snacks and chatting, no ice breakers!), as well as time to ask questions about the curriculum.
We truly hope you will join us to not only share in celebrating your child's growth so far this year, but to learn more about what we're all about here at Compass.
We will provide snacks and childcare. The actual meeting will be for adults only, but we'll set up a play space for the kids in a nearby room.
Please reach out if you have any questions about this meeting and we look forward to seeing you at the meeting for your child's class.
Sincerely,
Brooke
Co-Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Grades K-1
