JAGUAR UPDATE
Sunset Valley Elementary 9/29/17
Jaguar Corner
Hello Jaguars!
On behalf of the SVE students and staff, I would like to thank each of you for your prayers and thoughts of support for our students and families affected by this tragedy. Our students, staff and the R7 community have responded with love, compassion and empathy. Kelah loved purple and pink, so the layout of the newsletter has changed this week to honor a true Jaguar.
I would also like to thank Dr. Carpenter, Superintendent of Schools, and Dr. Jennifer Kephart, Assistant Superintendent, for making time to come over and check on our students. We are grateful for their leadership, compassion, and love for our students in R7.
Thank you to Dr. Hill and all of the R7 Elementary School Counselors who came over to SVE this week to support our students and staff. Thank you to all of our R7 buildings for their thoughts and prayers. We are mindful that the coming days and weeks will be challenging for students, staff and families. SVE and R7 will continue to provide support and love for our students, families and staff.
Families to receive electronic grade cards for first quarter
In an effort to streamline and improve communication, Lee’s Summit R-7 families will be receiving an electronic grade card for children enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. Grade cards will be sent to the first two parent e-mail addresses provided by families during school registration. If your family’s information has changed since registration, please contact your child’s school office and update the e-mail addresses.
As in previous school years, parents will have the opportunity to discuss first-quarter grade cards at parent-teacher conferences, scheduled for the week of Oct. 16. Parents will also receive a hard copy of their child's grade card at Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences. The hard copy grade card will be provided only for 1st quarter.
