Heading Into the Holidays
As we head into the holiday season, nothing will be quite normal this year. The challenge is how do we celebrate without creating COVID spread as we wait for the vaccine options that seem to be on the horizon. All that I have been sending you in the last month to keep students safe and keep Park View open really can apply to safely navigating the holidays. Knowing how to avoid infecting one another is the first line of defense so review the three W's and follow these at the smallest of family gatherings; which the CDC did say should be very, very small.
Remember the symptoms you should be looking for to be able to quarantine quickly when you first notice them appearing. This Healthy=Hybrid handout (Spanish Version) gives you all those symptoms to be aware of for school and home.
Adaptive Pause -
The week after the Thanksgiving break will be an adaptive pause, meaning all students will be remote for only one week (11/30 - 12/4) to try and avoid bringing together students that potentially could be exposed to the virus because of the holiday gatherings. We noticed many more students going home with symptoms after the Halloween holiday. We hope this pause of hybrid for one week will help us in the long game of keeping our staff and students healthy.

A Message of Thanksgiving -
“There is a lot to reflect on as we enter into the holiday season. We in District 44 think it is critical to share a message of gratitude, hope and care with our community. Help us develop this message by completing this brief form. Your responses will be used to develop a video that will be shared district-wide prior to Thanksgiving Break. Staff, parents and all of our learners -- whether in person or remote -- are encouraged to participate. Please make your submission by Friday, November 20 at 4 pm.”
