The Innovation Coach Is Here For You!

Mrs. Maghan Spencer (soon to be changed to Luka) serves as LCS's Innovation Coach. Mrs. Spencer is a certified Apple Learning Coach, as well as, Apple Teacher, Canvas Certified Educator, and Google Certified Level 1 and 2. Her primary responsibility is to promote and support innovative classroom instructional practices through the implementation of educational technology skills and quality digital teaching and learning practices for staff and students.


Mrs. Spencer is available throughout the year to help create innovative lessons for your classroom. Sign up for a session with the Innovation Coach during which she can plan a lesson with you, co-teach a lesson, or sit and reflect on lessons and explore how technology can be used with your existing lessons to increase rigor and deepen learning. These sessions are customized to meet the needs of your classroom. USE THIS LINK to go to Mrs. Spencer's calendar and sign up for a time to work together. All she needs is 2 days notice and the standard you are teaching!

Tech Tips & Troubleshooting Guide

These are quick tips for resolving the most common tech issues that may occur in your classroom. THIS GUIDE is posted on the website under Employees > Instructional Technology & Support. It can also be found in The Learning Hub within Canvas and in the Technology Knowledgebase located on the district site.


Don't hesitate to submit a tech ticket anytime you need help, but THIS GUIDE will allow for immediate solutions to common technology issues.


Please share this guide with your students and develop their capacity to become classroom tech experts and resolve many in-class issues. You can also post it on your teacher website, add it to your Canvas course, print it out, etc. Your school media coordinator is always available to assist anytime as well.

Employee Password Change/Reset

Employees can now reset or change their passwords from any type of device while on the school network.


You can access the Password Change/Reset Tool by visiting the district website. From there, any of the below paths will take you to the tool.


  • Employees >> Employee Tools >> Password Change/Reset
  • Employees >> Technology Knowledgebase
  • Employees >> Instructional Technology & Support


The first time you use the tool, you will choose Enroll and follow the prompts. After you are enrolled, you can use the tool to do the following:


  • Reset PW - use if you have forgotten your PW
  • Change PW - use if you know your current PW and wish to change it

The school media coordinators are also able to use this tool to reset student passwords.

The Educator Hive: Professional Learning Opportunities

Visit the LCS Educator Hive for a list of approved Professional Learning opportunities. "The Latest Buzz" page is updated weekly with new Professional Development opportunities that align with NC standards and your content area.


To find content-specific PD, from the The Educator Hive page, teachers should click "NCDPI Professional Learning" and follow the instructions to sign up to receive emails from the content areas that interest them. Then check their email inbox for regular updates from these departments with face-to-face and virtual PD opportunities.

Our Media Coordinators have been busy purchasing new books for the libraries. We are excited to announce that since 2020 we have added:
