Onomatopoeia
Batman ran threw the jokers layer and KABBOOM!!!! He hit the joker so hard KABBAM!!! The joker hit him back KABBOOM!!! Then BAM KABBOM CRACK the batman ended the fight.
Authors like to use onomatopoeia when writing intense story's because they make the reader feel like they are actually there because they are words that make sounds so it makes the reader actually feel like they are in the fight.
Hyperbole
When we had to take the star test it felt like they were FIVE TRILLION questions, the question would NEVER STOP COMING, I never got any closer to the end they just kept on coming as fast as I could answer them.
Authors use hyperbole's to make it seem dramatic. They make the reader want to read more and everyone loves drama so hyperbole's are perfect for the reader if they want a lot of drama.
Idiom
Mrs. Arnold is a walking dictionary.
Authors use idioms because they are usually funny or they kinda spice things up.
