A letter from Mr. Bachmeier
Fall Semester Test Information
Good Afternoon,
During the past few weeks, the administrators at DLBHS have discussed and planned the administration of our Junior High and High School fall semester tests during the pandemic. After much deliberation, I have decided to administer the tests to students in person. I have developed a plan to provide a safe environment for our distance learners during the testing time. I believe that providing a face-to-face testing opportunity for all students is the most equitable and proper way to assess their knowledge of each subject.
Each semester test day will be divided into a morning session and an afternoon session. The High School 9-12 grade students who are attending school in-person will take their tests in the morning. They will be dismissed at 11:35. Our in-person Junior High School students will have a regularly scheduled school day. All of our 7-12 grade distance learners should arrive at the school by 11:55 and will take their tests in the afternoon.
Our schedule will include time for all testing areas to be sanitized before the distance learners arrive in the building. I will ensure that each testing area allows for social distancing that exceeds CDC recommendations.
I understand that coming into the building to take exams may cause anxiety and uneasiness for some students. If you feel that your student cannot come into the building during the scheduled days, please call me at the school so I can discuss arrangements for your student to come to the school during the Christmas break. During this time, students can take their exams with only a test proctor in the room.
For students who are in quarantine during the semester testing period, I will also work with parents to arrange for students to take exams during the Christmas break. I have attached our semester test schedule to this letter to give our families time to prepare for the semester test period.
I hope you have all have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Christopher Bachmeier
Superintendent of Schools
