2023 AP Exams
Deadline to Register & Pay for Exams - November 9, 2022
Overview
Greetings Advanced Placement (AP) Students and Families-
My name is Dr. Alexandria Johns and I have recently taken over as the AP Exam Coordinator for Mariner High School and I would like to share some information about AP Test registration for Spring 2023.
The 2023 AP exams will cover the full content in each AP course, so students have the opportunity to receive college credit and/or placement. The College Board will support in-school testing in 2023 because administering exams in schools maximize access and opportunity. If safety concerns still prohibit any students from testing at a school, the College Board will provide a contingency testing option that contains full course content.
Please continue reading this 2023 AP Exams Newsletter for information on registering and paying for Spring AP Exams.

Students - Create a College Board Account
Students will need a College Board account to join their AP class section, receive AP assignments from teachers, get feedback on class progress, and register for AP exams (note: parents should not create an account for their student). If you don’t have a student account, go to www.collegeboard.org/register and create your account.
- Students creating a College Board account for the first time:
It is recommended that students use a personal email account that they check on a regular basis. Failure to do so may cause a student to not get the correct AP exam or delay their test scores. - Already Have a College Board Account?
All College Board programs are connected through one account. If an account was created during a previous year, you must use the same login information. You will also use the same login information for AP, PSAT/NMSQT, or SAT, as well.
AP Registration and Payment
Students and parents/guardians should complete this registration/enrollment together. This is a two-step process and both steps MUST be completed to access the AP Classroom resources and order AP Exams. The entire process (both steps) can be completed in a single sitting in approximately 10 minutes. Exams will not be ordered if both steps are not completed.
Step 1
- Please use your LEGAL NAME to register. This will help eliminate any delays in reporting scores. You may edit your name and email address if necessary, in your Account information on the College Board website.
Students taking AP courses/exams at Mariner High School must CONFIRM YOUR PLAN TO TEST FOR EACH AP COURSE BY NOV. 9, 2022.
Step 2
Pay for your exams by stopping by the bookkeeper’s office beginning Monday October 24, 2022 to complete the registration process.
The cost for each AP Exam is $100.
Qualifying low-income students pay no fees on AP exams. Eligible students may qualify for the Test Fee Program through one of the following methods: Free Lunch Program, Reduced Lunch Program, Social Security Program, Medicaid Program, or Declaration of Income.
- If you/your student believe that they are eligible for the AP Test fee reduction, please complete the “Consent to Share Eligibility” and the OSPI “Low Income Verification Form”. Forms are Linked below (please print, complete and send with your student to turn in to the bookkeeper), students can get a copy from your AP teacher, or you may pick up a copy from the Mariner Bookkeeper.
- There are 40 grants available on a first-come, first-serve basis that will cover 50% of the AP Exam fees (no late fees will be covered) for students that are not eligible for the fee waiver. Students may apply for up to 2 grants.
Late registration/Missed Test fee mandated by College Board
Students may register for an AP exam AFTER November 15th, 2022 and up until March 1st, 2023, but will have to pay an additional $40 per exam late order fee (for a total of $140). Students that sign up for AP Exams and do not test, will be charged a $40 fee.
AP exams that are not paid in full will be canceled & exams will not be ordered.
