Jesi's Christmas: A Special Project for AASD
Jessalyn Reilly was a former student in the Altoona Area School District. She spent her elementary school years at Juniata Elementary, and went on to be a proud graduate of AAHS.
Jesi is remembered as a bright, bubbly student, who was always kind and considerate of others’ feelings and needs. Her smile was contagious. Former teachers remember the appreciation she had for her family, teachers, and peers. Even at a young age, Jesi was involved in clubs and activities to make her school and community the best it could be! Tragically, Jesi’s life was cut short when she passed away after a car accident at the age of 18.
Fifteen years later, Jesi’s family and friends continue to keep her memory alive through the Jesi’s Christmas organization. Each year, the Reilly family decides on charitable projects to help people in the community at Christmas. This year, the projects include: Christmas for the homeless shelter, collecting items for the Central PA Humane Society, and a Santa’s Workshop to provide toys for families in need. We are so happy to have the students of the AASD participating in this great project! If you are able, please consider sending an item to school with your child, and sharing with them the importance of helping others, kindness, and
sharing. PLEASE SEND ALL ITEMS BY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14.
