Bobcat Connection
Learning. Growing. Collaborating & Achieving @KrumHighSchool
September 4, 2017
Greetings KHS Family!
We have had a great week at Krum High School. Our students have performed very well in extracurricular events and the classroom. Congratulations to Coach Larson on securing her 300th Win. Congratulations to Johanna Drews on placing 12th in the Camp Copass Cross Country meet. Congratulations to Volleyball for wins on Friday night and to Varsity for winning the Buckle Up for Lane Tournament on Saturday.
Our football team played hard on the road and didn't quit. Although Pilot Point put the most points on the board, sometimes the true victory cannot be measured on a scoreboard. The moral victory was demonstrated by the resiliency of our players, coaches, student body, band, cheerleaders, color guard and community in overcoming adversity. Words cannot express the deep pride felt when looking into the stands and seeing everyone supporting our team. It is wonderful to witness the synergy created by a "WE over me" mindset. Krum is a special place because of the dedication, loyalty, and pride modeled.
On Friday our students received their progress reports for assignments taken during the first three weeks of the grading period. All of our teachers all have email addresses. Email is often the easiest form of communication should you have a specific question regarding your student's performance in a class. Please do not hesitate to contact your student's teacher at any time.
On Monday, September 4, 2017, Krum High School will be closed in observance of Labor Day. In this week's newsletter you will see the latest happenings at KHS, Homecoming news, as well as general information for students. Thank you for allowing us to brag on our students and staff.
Next week is Homecoming week! We hope you will join us in celebrating the pride that comes from being a Krum Bobcat. We have a strong tradition of excellence and many reasons to celebrate! Whether you are a student, parent, alumnus, or community member, we hope you will join us as we celebrate and "GEAR UP." The Ranch 95.9 radio station will attend our pep rally and game as they decide which school has the most school spirit. The winning school will win a concert by Flatland Cavalry, 500 Tickets to the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in April 2018. (Value $79 each), and a $1,000 scholarship to a college bound senior. For more details on how to win go to: http://www.959theranch.com/friday-night-lights/. Let's show our KRUM BOBCAT SPIRIT!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Krum High School, we wish all families a safe and memorable Labor Day.
Go Bobcats!
