Stress
What it's all about
What is stress?
Stress is a feeling we get when presented with certain events. It's a way your body prepares itself for difficult situations.
There are two types of stress. Eustress, and distress. Eustress is short term, a good type of stress, while distress is long term, a bad type of stress.
Our body responds to stress in different ways. When we're stressed, your body releases hormones called adrenalin and cortisol. These hormones speed up heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure energy and sweat production, so it is quickly prepared to fight or run.
Stress has different effects on different people. Some people may act out in anger, and others internalize their stress and isolate themselves.
