TJH Update #38
May 6, 2020
A Message from Dr. Mitzner
Please read the information carefully and fill out the link below to let us know how you will be participating in our student item collection and drop off process.
On Monday, May 11th and Tuesday, May 12th, we will have DROP OFF ONLY procedures. If your student needs to drop off items to the school, students and parents will be able to drive through and return campus/district equipment in a drop-and-go format using the front car rider driveway. Please have items ready to give through the passenger window with the following guidelines:
Classroom books labeled (preferably with a post-it) of the student’s and teacher’s name
Uniforms and/or clothing items in a plastic bag labeled with the student’s name
Technology with its corresponding charging cord
Instruments labeled with the student’s and teacher’s name
All other items (library books, bags, art supplies, etc.) ready to hand out the window
On Wednesday, May 13th through Friday, May 15th, we will have DROP OFF AND COLLECTION procedures. At this time, students may access the building to pick up personal belongings as well as drop off any items they may have (Athletic/PE uniforms, technology, library books, classroom books borrowed from teachers, textbooks, instruments, etc.) Please park in the front of the building and enter through the main entrance. The following procedures will be followed:
A maximum of 20 students every 30 minutes will be allowed in the building
Only those that are signed up will be allowed inside the building
If you have multiple students attending TJH we understand you will want to come to the building once; however each child needs a separate sign up slot
A face mask/covering must be worn inside the building
Face masks will not be provided. All entering the building must provide their own face mask/covering
Students may bring a bag/box to gather items
If your student needs to pick up an item from band, orchestra, or choir, please contact the director for a specific time.
Any items not collected by May 15th will be donated (this includes items in lockers)
Over the next few days you will be receiving emails from teachers and staff in regards to the item(s) your student needs to collect and/or drop off.
We ask that this form be completed for EACH student at Tays Junior High to communicate how you will participate in our processes. Please click HERE to complete the form.
We look forward to seeing everyone!

News from the TJH Library!
Titans now have over 120 additional digital titles to choose from in the TJH library. These popular books may be accessed through the Tays online catalog and SORA. Additionally, our 7th and 8th grade Titans may want to utilize another free resource from TumbleBooks. TeenBookCloud is a database created by TumbleBooks for middle school and high school students. They are offering access to digital books and content based videos for students in grades 7-12. Please note that this resource divides titles into Middle School and Teen selections. Some titles in the Teen category are more appropriate for 9th-12th graders. Contact our librarian, Mrs. Pruzan dorothapruzan@katyisd.org, if your student needs assistance accessing SORA or the TJH catalog or if you have further questions about resources including TeenBookCloud.
