Mrs. Overfield and Mrs. Hickoff, Secretaries
From the Desk of Mr. Tiemann
Believe it or not, this is the last State Road Newsletter of the school year. It’s hard to believe how fast this year has gone by, and I continue to be so impressed by all the great things that happen here at State Road on a daily basis! I am grateful for the staff at how hard they work every single day for our students; I am impressed by our students, not only for their growth educationally, but for how they have matured as well; and I am thankful for all of our parent support and involvement in the classrooms and throughout our school! If I don’t see you before the end of this school year, I would like to wish you all a fantastic summer full of fun, family, and learning as well!
Statistics show that students can lose up to 30% of the knowledge that they have learned throughout the school year by not reading and practicing math facts during the summer. Please encourage and support your child in their reading by visiting a local library for students to choose books that are interesting to them; and find fun activity books or websites for them to practice their math skills. Several sites that I highly recommend for math are: www.xtramath.org which is a FREE site; and www.ixl.com which each student already has a login provided by the district. Please also visit our website for additional summer resources for your child!

Please Help Prevent the Spread of Sickness, Head Lice, etc...
Parents: We have had a several reported cased of Strep Throat and Head Lice in the past few weeks. The best way to prevent the spread of sickness, communicable diseases, or issues such as head lice is to take preventative steps at home prior to sending your child to school. Please also contact the office right away to let us know of any sickness or confirmed case of lice that your child may have. For more ‘health’ related information, please visit the State Road website and select “Student Health Info” under the Information Tab. Thank you!
Please visit the "Student Health Information" section of our website (link below) for more information!
