Hello, Longwood Families!
This week the weather took a turn into fall and a few rainy days provided some indoor recess opportunities for students. As a reminder, students will go outside for recess when the "feels like" temperature or wind chill index is five degrees or warmer and rain free. If we can assist your family with getting a coat, hat, or gloves for your child(ren), please contact our Social Worker, Mrs. Michele Lome: michele_lome@ipsd.org
We are thrilled to offer free breakfast and free lunch for all students this year. We wanted to provide clarification about free meals for lunch. We appreciate your help in reviewing the below information with your child:
- Students must take a complete meal in order for it to be free.
- Students cannot pick and choose items to take or not from they line.
- Students must take all parts of the meal for it to be complete, but are not expected to eat everything they take.
Example: Student orders meatball sub takes carrots, apple, and milk = FREE MEAL
Example: Student orders meatball sub and apple, but does not take milk and carrots = Student Charged for Meal.
Picture Retakes are this Friday, October 20th. If you want your child's picture retaken, please send back your picture packet. All retakes will be completed in the morning before lunches.
Thank you for staying connected! Please continue reading for photo highlights of our week and other important reminders.
Have a wonderful weekend, Lions! Thank you for being a part of our Pride!

iReady Results
iReady score reports are now available for families on ParentVUE. iReady is a district assessment administered to all students three times a year. Longwood staff use the results to monitor student growth and progress.
New this year, the district provided a "For Families" report that provides additional information aobut how your cild did on the fall benchmarking assessment. iReady reports for your child are uploaded to the documents section in ParentVUE. Scores are also posted in the test history area. These Google Slides describe the report and include a video describing the assessment. This Reference Guide has more information about reading your child's report.
Below is a letter from the district with additional information. If you have any questions, we encourage you to connect with your child's teacher.
