Lincoln Bulletin
As we have approached the middle of February and our long weekend, Lincoln students, staff and families have been very busy. This week we dedicated time throughout the week to show kindness. Random Acts of Kindness Matters organization hosted many events, but we also integrated this at Lincoln School. Today our Hearts and Hands Club worked together with students from all grades to make valentines that will be delivered to patients at a local hospital. Yesterday some of our students read to seniors from a local retirement community and gave them valentines. These acts of kindness help us connect to the broader St. Charles community.
A big thank you to all of the PTO parents involved in the Bingo night, and the lead Mrs. Moline. Over $5,000 was raised to help support future field trips, assemblies, and many other support resources for our Lincoln students.
Also, thank you for the sweets provided by the PTO to the teachers and the many parents that helped with our Valentine's Day parties today. Even though our intermediate grades do not have traditional parent lead parties they were able to enjoy the time together.
FROM STUDENT COUNCIL - Student Council is Selling Smencils!
On Wed. 2/19 and Thurs. 2/20 during lunch, Student Council members will be selling Smencils for $1 each. The money raised will be donated to Lazarus House and Anderson Animal Shelter. Thank you for your continued support!
Middle School Transfer Requests
Families who wish to submit Middle School Transfer requests may do so beginning February 3. The request form will be available on the District 303 website through February 28. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want transferred. Requests are granted based on space available so siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.
Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.
Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance are responsible for their own transportation.
Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle
school attended.

FROM THE NURSE
The Dentist is Coming to Lincoln!
Great News! Lincoln has partnered with Smile Programs...the mobile dentists, to offer in-school dental care right here at Lincoln during the school day.
Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low-cost self-pay option is available.
Forms were sent home last week. I've got more available in the Lincoln Health Office or sign your child up today at www.MySchoolDentist.com. Permission slips due now.
