West Middle School - Welcome to the Nest!
From the Desk of Dr. Kempf
Happy Friday West Families,
This has been an amazing week as we welcomed 65% of our students back to full in-person learning. By the looks of our students and staff this morning we need to adjust back to the new “normal” type of school. We need to build up a routine and increase our school stamina over the next couple of weeks. The building looks exhausted, so I hope everyone gets a relaxing weekend with great weather to enjoy.
Just a reminder for in-person learners about school day arrival. The school building opens at 7:45 a.m. and classroom instruction begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Parents need to make sure students have adequate time to make it into class before 8:00 a.m.
Also, drop-off is still following our COVID protocols. 6th grade enters on the north side of the building (courtyard area), 7th grade enters at the front of the building at the west end (door nearest the track), and 8th grade enters at the front at the east side of the building (door closest to Crestline Rd). Siblings can enter together at any one of those locations. All of these doors close at 8:00 a.m. Students will need to enter the front main entrance after 8:00 a.m. for an admittance slip to class. Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m. and they enter the theater entrance on the north side of the building.
Thank you for your help with all our transition this year,
Dr. Kempf
