Clearly I have many to thank for their support throughout TELPAS! You've heard the phrase, "It takes a villiage..."
I am so grateful y'all are in mine!
To all the classroom teachers of my ESL students, I thank you for your support while I was focused on TELPAS. Your patience and flexibility with an often-interrupted schedule during the TELPAS window was very much appreciated. I look forward to getting back to stricter routine.
Thank you to Jennifer Killian, Nicole Peterson, Jennifer Lambert, Justin Huddleston, Sandie Harvey, Melissa Putnum, Teena Malina, Andrea Greene, Jenny Orth, JoLisa Hoover, Kevin Williams, Christy Tucker, Tricia Jackson, and Rachel Polanco for assistance in collecting writing samples for ELL students' TELPAS assessments. Your extra effort and willingness to "share" your kiddos with me for extended periods of time was, and is, much appreciated.
Thanks to Amy Johnson for lending her expertise and knowledge of STAAR testing support to our recent LPAC meeting. You, my dear, are legendary!
Much thanks goes out to Amanda Willim for volunteering to help with verifying all of the ESL TELPAS writing sample collections and to Melinda Barber for her calm support throughout the online testing window. I so appreciate your willingness to help. - Paulette
Congratulations to JoLisa Hoover for hosting a very successful Writers Conference for her students. Parents, grandparents, and teachers were invited to conference with students about their writing. Students were well prepared to share their work and ask for constructive criticism. I was very impressed with the event's organization and the students' preparedness. I had a great time! - Paulette
Huge THANK YOU to our wonderful IA's Yass, Mari, Cassy, Tracy, and Melissa for going above and beyond to build accommodation bags for STAAR. Each of them either stayed after school, worked during their lunch, or researched TEA STAAR accommodation changes to be sure we were making the correct thing; all in two days time! We appreciate each and every one of you, and could not do this gig without you! - Christy T
