We will be hosting a Kindergarten Orientation on May 26th at 2:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to meet the teachers and visit the kindergarten classrooms. Registration information can be access by clicking here.
Clubs at Benfield
The PTO is actively working to bring clubs back for the 2022-2023 school year. We wanted parent's thoughts and feedback as we begin to develop a plan. Due to the change in the school start time next fall, clubs will most likely take place after school. Based on the results of the survey, input from Mrs. Myers and the PTO we hope to organize 3 to 4 clubs in the fall and spring. Thanks for taking time to participate in the survey and share your thoughts! Click below to take the survey.

Anne Arundel Public Library "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" Program
Anne Arundel County Public Library encourages families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth helps strengthen language skills and build vocabulary — two important tools for learning to read.
It's easy to reach this important milestone:
- 3 books a day for 1 year = 1,095 books
- 1 book a day for 3 years = 1,095 books
You can read the same book over and over, or even read books in other languages. Library storytimes count, too!
How to Register: Register online using the Beanstack Tracker app or visit the Beanstack website. You can also register at any library branch.
Track Your Reading: Each time you read a book with your child, log it on your online reading log (or paper log which will be provided if you register in person at a library branch.)
Show us Your Reading Logs: After 25 books, visit a library to pick up a small prize. When you reach the 100 books badge, bring in your reading log to get a tote bag to carry all the books you’re reading! At each 100 books badge, you can visit the library for a sticker.
Read More Books! When you get all the way to 1,000, you’ll receive a new book to take home – and keep!
