Parkhill Primary School Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers
It has been so lovely to have all of the children back onsite this week. The energy in the playground and classrooms is amazing!
Drop off and pick up seems to have settled down with people managing to arrange common meeting places, pick up points and other smart ways around the situation - thank you for being flexible and resourceful!
I have had a few requests regarding the Y4/5 entrance gate which is tucked away at the top of the oval. As of Monday students from Y4,5 and 6 are welcome to use either the gate at the top of the oval entry or the Roger Beech Hall entry gate. In offering this option those of you who are concerned about your children getting dirty feet can use the Parkhill Drive entrance.
It is important to note that at pick up Parkhill Drive remains a non stopping zone - you cannot park or wait for children here. It is a huge safety risk if there are cars parking outside of the school. Equally please do be safe in your practices around the local streets. The school carpark is NOT a turning zone nor is it available for parents to drop their children off.
It is so important that we role model safe and sensible use of the local area to our children.
Children who are showing any signs of being sick must stay home.
If you have any questions or feedback for us please do let me know brady.elaine.e@edumail.vic.gov.au
Have a super fun weekend
Best wishes,
Elaine Brady

Y5/6 STEAM
The Science of Circuits
It was a fabulous welcome back to the STEAM lab for Y5/6 students as they applied their online learning to a hands on session, creating and drawing circuits. Students then set about building a scribble bot using a simple circuit and then extended their exploration by including a switch and light. Congratulations to all students who managed to get all 3 components to work simultaneously.

Garden News
It's wonderful having the students back and seeing them enjoying themselves in the garden. The Y4/5's had a busy day weeding and mulching. They also baked and ate some yummy scones!
Head Lice
There have been reports of head lice in the 2/3 area.
Please check your children's hair and treat them if necessary before they return to school.
