Congratulations Fall Semester Honor Roll students
TRMS and TRMS PTA would like to congratulate all the students who made Excellent and Superior Honor Roll for Fall Semester 2016. Each Honor Roll student will be given a ticket to use for a special treat during their lunch on Friday, February 10th!

Pet Walk Saturday, February 11th!
We will have a Pet Walk of the school year on Saturday, February 11th from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. We will meet and walk our pets on the Nature Trail. This is a fun student and/or family activity. Students may participate with or without pets. We all share. Come and enjoy our beautiful Nature Trail!
CHS Rising 9th Grade Parent Night
We are looking forward to meeting you at our Rising 9th Grade Parent Night on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm. Click here for the evening's schedule for you to view prior to Wednesday. Notice that we have divided up the schedule by alphabet (A-L and M-Z).
There will be two meetings held prior to the 7:00 meeting.
There will be a Special Education meeting with our Instructional Support Teacher, Susan Lauterbach and our Special Education Department Chair, Beth Cunningham, at 6:00 pm in the media center.
There will be a Talented and Gifted meeting with our TAG Department Chair, Patti Pair, in the auditorium at 6:30 pm.

6th Grade Chattanooga Field Trip
In connection with the study of Earth Science, 6th grade will take a field trip to the Tennessee Aquarium, Ruby Falls, and Rock City, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Students will attend for one day on either May 8 or May 9, based on their chaperone assignment.
The cost of this field trip is $100, which includes transportation, boxed lunch, and all attractions. Permission forms will be sent home on Wednesday, February 1st. Additional information regarding the trip and activities will be sent home as it becomes available. Please complete the permission form and return on February 10, 2017 with the payment of $100. First Place Finish in Social Studies Fair!
Congratulations to Vinod Ruppa-Kasani for placing first Social Studies Fulton county fair! Vinod will go on to the West Metro Regional Fair in March.
TRMS Orchestra Celebrates Georgia Music Day
Nicole Thompson, GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year Award Finalist, led members of the TRMS Orchestra at the Georgia Music Day celebration last week. The group joined others at the State Capital to celebrate Georgia's music industry.

National School Counselor Week Feb 6 through 10th
National School Counseling Week 2017, "School Counseling: Helping Students Realize Their Potential," will be celebrated from Feb. 6-10, 2017, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by ASCA, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National School Counseling Week is always celebrated the first full week in February.

Financial Aid Awareness Month
February is Financial Aid Awareness Month. It’s never too early to discuss financial aid with students. Even as young as elementary school, the conversation about financial literacy can occur, even if it’s about saving birthday money for postsecondary expenses.
