Lincoln Log

(In Person Edition) December 11, 2020

Tis the Season

At Lincoln, students are doing a wonderful job of demonstrating respect, responsibility, and compassion! Staff have asked to do a weekly shout out to recognize the efforts of students to demonstrate the qualities of a great Lincoln Logger. These announcements are made in the mornings on Thursday...they are our Thoughtful Thursday Shout-Outs. While students names are announced for both virtual and in person students to hear, I also write a personal postcard to each student thanking them for making Lincoln learning wonderful!

Miss Gartmann ("Miss Becky"), our new administrative assistant, would like to acknowledge how kindly students hold the door for one another when coming in from or leaving for the bus. She has also noticed that students are very kind in helping one another to use our new water bottle fill station.

I am glad that this season with Lincoln Learners is a positive season full of good will towards others!

Best wishes for a great weekend!

Yours in partnership,

Mrs. Whooley Jepson, principal

Mrs. Cegielski's First Grade Countdown to Winter Break

It looks like Mrs. Cegielski's first grade class will be having a great week next week. "Our classroom is buzzing with excitement as the countdown to Winter Break has begun. We are learning about all winter holidays and traditions. What was that?! I think it was the Gingerbread man! Run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man! First Graders will have fun with a special gingerbread unit before break, complete with a scavenger hunt!" exclaimed Mrs. Cegielski. That sounds like a fun week!

A trip to the School Forest with Ms. McKellips Third Graders

The third graders from Miss McKellips class took a trip to the school forest this Monday. According to Miss McKellips, "At the school forest, we learned about turkeys, their habitat and their adaptations. We also took a nature hike and saw some pretty cool things such as deer tracks, bald eagles and a new garden the school forest planted for the deer to eat."

It looks like they learned a lot and had a great time!

Attendance - Who Do I Call?

Virtual students should call their HOME schools to report any absences. So, Lincoln students - even if being taught by a non-Lincoln teacher - should call the Lincoln office to report any absences or appointments. Please remember to call the school office before 9:00 am at 715-261-0965.

Remember that our virtual day runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Thursday only!

No School on Fridays

This is a reminder that classes will take place Monday-Thursday only! Friday is a day for staff to use for planning and prep time. No school for students on Friday! Some staff may connect with students who are struggling to keep up and may provide extra tutoring experiences. This would be done on an individual as-needed basis only.
