KPMS Faculty/Staff
Update
April 20, 2020
Are you all set with Infinite Campus?
Now that we are in the midst of remote learning, please make sure that you are able to record credit/no credit for assignments on Infinite Campus without changing the full year grade.
One great resource is the video that Kory Kotouch made: find the video here.
If you have additional questions, please make sure to reach out. Thank you!

Privacy When Making Phone Calls from Home -- *67, Google Meet, or Google Voice?
*67
One way to protect your privacy is to use *67 before dialing a phone number. When you do this, your number will come up as "private" or "anonymous". One problem with this is that some parents/guardians will not answer numbers that are marked this way. Another problem is that some phones do not accept calls from blocked numbers, leaving you unable to call the parent or guardian unless you set up a time in advance. The parent/guardian will either need to answer the private call at the planned time or turn off their blocking of restricted/private calls.
Google Meet
Dialing a phone number through Google Meet without using the video is an option. After you start and join a "meet," you can add people to the meet by calling a phone number. When you dial out, your number comes up as a blocked number, so it puts you in the same situation as *67. Depending on the receiver's phone settings, you may not be able to get through to parents.
Google Voice
Another option is to set up a free phone number through Google Voice. In order to set-up a Google Voice number, you need a personal gmail account. Calls can be made through your computer's web browser or through an app on a smart phone. [Note: I set this up last week -- and it has been a life saver! I now have a "Wrentham" number where parents can leave me a voicemail message.]
If you are interested in learning more about setting up a Google Voice number, please read through this article: Maintain Teacher Privacy with Google Voice.
Grid View on Google Hangouts Meet
If you are on a Google Hangouts Meet and you like the grid view so you can see everyone on the page you can add an extension to google meet. Here is the link to an extension: Google Meet Grid View (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-meet-grid-view/bjkegbgpfgpikgkfidhcihhiflbjgfic?hl=en-US).
After you add the extension to chrome, you will see a mini-grid appear when you are in your meeting on the top right (next to where it lists the number of people ). If the mini-grid has a diagonal line through it you just need to click it to activate grid view.
