Honor the Past, Prepare for the Future, Participate Now
Mr. Mauck's Musings
The severe weather moved through the area and the students and staff did a terrific job of following our severe weather procedures. In the future, if severe weather is threatening at the time for dismissal or policy is to keep all the students in school until it is safe to dismiss.
Tonight the boys' basketball team is traveling to Evansville North to take on the Huskies in the second round of Sectional action at 8 pm. Please come out and support our Wildcats. Mrs. Jochum had three guest speakers today talking to the Principles of Bio-Medical Science classes about a career as an EMT.
Eliana Ortega will represent Jasper High School at the Indiana Poetry Out Loud state finals on Saturday, March 4, in Indianapolis at the State House. Good luck Eliana!
The Jasper FFA Small Engines teams competed in the District Contest yesterday evening. 19 teams competed. The team of Tyler Fuhrman and Carter Wagner placed 9th and Mitchel Harris and Alex Schwenk Placed 1st. Mitchel and Alex will be competing in the state competition at the end of April. Congratulations!!
The yearbook is still offering an opportunity for senior parents to purchase a senior salute in the yearbook. Send your senior off with style. There is information below. The best Student Council in the State is holding class officer elections. Please submit your petition to Mrs. Ferguson. Today is Maintenance Appreciation Day. Thank you to our staff for keeping the school in tip-top shape.
Nurse Hutton wanted me to remind everyone a letter was sent regarding the mandated Meningitis vaccine about 10 days ago to all juniors who need this vaccine. The Dubois County Health Department is offering a vaccination clinic on March 30 at JHS. If your student received this letter, they need this vaccine! Please read the information provided in the letter and complete the permission paperwork. A copy of a parent's driver's license and insurance card (front and back) MUST be attached. This paperwork needs to be returned to Nurse Hutton by March 7.
Finally, Prom season is almost here. Prom reservations are due by the 17th. Post prom is in need of prizes, financial support and volunteers. Please sign-up to work post-prom or contribute to a wonderful event.
Stay safe and enjoy the weekend.

Post Prom Requests
Parents--please consider donating to help the JHS PTO put on the post prom event for our students. This event is held to offer our students a safe, fun place to go after prom. There are a few ways to donate--you can send a donation of money or gift cards to JHS (Attn: Post Prom), or you can Venmo a donation to @jasperpto. We have also created an Amazon wish list that you can purchase a prize off of it and have it sent to JHS, Attn: Post Prom.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated! We have historically relied on our community employers to support this event. Due to economic conditions, our donations are down this year. We need YOUR help to help make this event a success!Prom registration
March 17th is quickly approaching! I MUST have your forms and dues by Friday, March 17th. Forms are available outside the attendance window. Dues MUST be turned in when you turn in your forms. All non-JHS guests MUST have a guest form filled out to account for them. The junior class officers need time to write out prom tickets for those who have paid and turned in forms. Therefore, the March 17th due date is non-negotiable.
If you have NOT turned in a form and/or dues by March 17th, I will assume you are NOT ATTENDING prom and will notations aside of your name accordingly. If you want to attend prom, you MUST fill in a form and pay your dues. Make sure you know for sure who you plan to attend prom with as NO CHANGES will be made after March 17th.
Questions? See Mrs.Keusch in Room 202 during homeroom or passing periods.
