National Insurance Numbers
If you intend to work while studying in the UK, an employer will require you to provide them with a National Insurance Number (NINo), so that they can pay your wages and make any applicable tax or national insurance deductions. UK residents are allocated a number automatically at the age of 16. However, European or International students will not have this number so will need to apply for one.
To apply for a National Insurance number, call the application line:

Writing great CVs and Applications
Are you worried about putting a CV together or completing an application form?
Don't know where to start?
Keep putting it off?
We can take the strain out of CV writing and application form completion.
Sign-up for one of our workshops and in just one hour you'll be all set to complete a form or write a brilliant CV!
This session counts towards the PSC Passport (Professional Skills Curriculum).
Changing the World – do it or ditch it
“Steve Jobs didn't really set the direction of my Apple I and Apple II designs but he did the more important part of turning them into a product that would change the world.” (Steve Wozniak).
We all have ideas all the time, but actually making them happen is much rarer. How can you decide if your idea represents a real opportunity? Will it work in practice? What do you need to do to get it going? Whether your idea is for a new venture, business, social enterprise or something else, this session will get you thinking about the viability of your idea and give you some practical tools to decide whether to do it or ditch it.
This session is part of the PSC (Professional Skills Curriculum) and is open to everyone. It will be of particular benefit to those with an interest in enterprise/ entrepreneurship or who have an idea they’d like to develop.

Robin, Crawford and Michael will speak about their careers and how they jumped from Mermaids into the professional world. Michael will speak about his experiences organising festivals, and Robin and Crawford will speak about creating The Woman in Black, even performing a few scenes from the play.
